Local community

Our happiness is intertwined with the wellbeing of our local community. Being connected in a community helps us feel like we belong and this has a big impact on our own happiness, that of our family, and the community as a whole.

There are things all of us can do to improve community wellbeing, from getting to know our neighbours to supporting local activities and finding ways to help improve community facilities.  Read more

Tell us

I run a community choir and a monthly philosophy cafe, and am an active member of my local Transition Town group and various other local community and green groups.

Investing lots of my time and energy in developing and delivering quality learning experiences to inspire and motivate young people. Supporting specific groups in the community and giving my time to support local events. Responding positively to all emails from teachers, requesting educational advice and guidance.

I love the community feel where we live - before we moved here we'd been invited to a fantastic summer street party on our street! We like to do our bit by inviting all the neighbours round regularly. At the moment a group of us are campaigning against a new development with 24-hour alcohol licensing which is planned near the little primary school our kids go to.
