Connect with people

People with strong and broad social relationships are happier, healthier and live longer. Close relationships with family and friends provide love, meaning, support and increase our feelings of self worth. Broader networks bring a sense of belonging.

So taking action to strengthen our relationships and build connections is essential for happiness.  Read more

Who matters most to you?

Tell us

Family, friends, - being more specific, Mum, Dad, sister, best friend from University, anyone who i've known and been invovled in doing music with. I run a Sunday lunch club where I invite people I don't know so well or don't see very often to come and help to extend networks of friends.

My family - mum, siblings and niece and nephews. (all live abroad). My partner My friends My peers and colleagues Those in my choir My boss and line-manager Those that I come into contact with every day... they too matter and they too have an experience to share - good or bad. We are all the same at the end of the day.

Maria, UK2 Sep 2010, 13:31

Lots of people really matter to me - family, friends, colleagues, neighbours - but above all it's my wife Kate, my three beautiful children, my Mum & Dad, my sister and my closest friends from home and university days.
