Spreading the benefits of gratitude

31 Aug 2016 | Wasim Khan

One of the simplest and most effortless habits to live a more positive life is to take a minute or two every day and focus on the wonder of life. Practicing gratitude has many benefits; studies have proved that it can help us lead more peaceful, happy, appreciative and healthier lives as well.

The #ITHANK campaign was a month long effort to promote these benefits and encourage people to experience more gratitude. The Kuwait-based campaign, created by non-profit organisation Alnowair, encouraged people to practice gratitude and learn about the benefits of leading a more grateful life. This was done via social media and activities at various popular locations.

Thank You post-it notes

Free #ITHANK post-it notes were distributed at selected coffee stores. The post-its were a quick, cute and creative way of showing your gratitude towards someone or something.

Big yellow wall of gratitude

Another activity to promote thankfulness was the longest ever yellow wall of gratitude in Kuwait along the bridge at Marina Mall. The 50 Meter wall allowed the visitors to stick #ITHANK post-its about things they are thankful for and share their gratitude with others.

"We are very excited and happy to offer people of Kuwait the opportunity to express their gratefulness in this simple and memorable way" said Gaya Kruchlik, Head of Alnowair.

Marina Mall also had an interactive Thank You stand where people could take selfies along with their dedications of appreciation.

Thank You Couch

Another memorable idea for promoting awareness of gratitude was the Thank You Couch at Al Hamra Tower. A yellow couch was placed on the mezzanine floor where people were welcome to go sit down and tell each other things they are grateful for.

"We are all so busy that we often forget to appreciate the little things in our lives. Through this campaign we want to remind, inspire and encourage people to feel and show gratitude. We also thank our friends from Marina Mall, Al Hamra and Caribou Coffee for collaborating with us on such an awesome project." said Sheikha Intisar, the founder of Alnowair.
